Bars are getting stronger

Allie MarkoLast week may have been shortened because of fall break, but it was most certainly packed with excitement in the gym! Everyone had an extremely successful week of training, as we started full routines on beam and more difficult skill sets on floor. Bars was a very strong aspect in the gym this past week, as Coach Tim made the assignments fun with games and group challenges. Cream showed that the Tribe bar girls are ready for the season when she was the first one to hit a full bar routine last week! Jenny, Lacy, and Larson made great progress with their front handspring front vaults, and seniors Teenie, Karla, and Dina have all been impressive in the gym with their twisting vault work. Kristin’s surgery went well, and we know she is very excited to be able to start bars again this week in the gym!

The Tribe Gymnastics team had a fun time outside of the gym last week too! Not only did we enjoy team dinners together on both Thursday and Friday night, but we also bonded as a team when we painted our team locker room. We may not be professional painters, but I think we did a pretty awesome job! We were joined by two recruits over the weekend as well, and many of the underclassmen enjoyed taking them around campus. The upperclassmen traveled to D.C. over the weekend and had a great time together in the city! Now this week, it’s back to the gym for more hard work and theme leo days as we look forward to Homecoming next weekend!

Let’s go Tribe!
