Meet the Transfer Interns – Grace!

Grace CovelloHello! My name is Grace and I am a senior here at W&M! I transferred in fall 2014 and I am majoring in psychology. I am from Chesterfield, VA which is about 20 minutes from Richmond. I am so excited to be a spring intern for transfer students! In addition to being an intern I am an active member and leader in my social sorority, a site leader for College Partnership for Kids, and a tutor for local public schools. Additionally I volunteer at a local mental institution in my free time. During my time here I have also been a part of Cheerleading and the Dance Team at William & Mary.  I am very passionate about getting involved in the community and have learned many lessons through my experiences in Williamsburg. When I’m not volunteering you can find me walking around CW with friends or working out at The Rec! Since I am a senior and my time is unfortunately dwindling down here, I am soaking up every minute I can! I plan to attend graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania pursuing my Master of Science in Higher Education and hope to work in admissions one day!

I transferred from Richard Bland College, the sister school to William and Mary. I was able to graduate high school in 2013, immediately start taking summer classes that allowed me to graduate with my associate’s degree in August of 2014, and from there I started at William & Mary in the same year! Being a first-generation college student, immediately going to a four-year institution was something that I was not ready for. I love working with transfer students and in admissions because everyone has such a unique experience transferring but we all end up at the same place!

I am stoked to hopefully pass on some inspiration and welcome you all to W&M! If you guys have questions about anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Go Tribe!
