Keep Calm and Wait On
I won’t sugarcoat it—waiting is hard, and it feels like forever. Though let me tell you something else, William & Mary is 100% worth the wait! Once you receive that acceptance letter, it will feel like no time has passed, but in the meantime, try to keep calm and occupy yourself with other activities.
When I was in your shoes three years ago, I threw myself into various activities and organizations on campus to stay busy (and sane) during this difficult time. But don’t get me wrong; they were all things that I enjoyed, and I made friends that I still keep in touch with and get to see occasionally. Don’t let this time slip away! After all, it may be your last month or two at your current school or in your current situation, so take advantage of it.
If you’re in need of some more distractions, I would highly suggest watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix (which I binge-watched during my waiting period) or listening to Milky Chance’s debut album. Check out W&M’s website, do some research on our academic and extracurricular opportunities, feel free to contact any of us with questions, and most importantly, hang in there!
