New Beginnings

On New Beginnings–

Many things have changed in just one year for me. First of all, I am now a senior here at the College and can feel the difference William and Mary has made in my life. I think it’s funny how people always say things like, “Wow, I feel like it was just yesterday that I was a freshman,” or stuff like, “Four years will fly by before you know it!” These little sayings are problematic I think, because when we say them, it’s in hindsight and the savored moments have passed. These moments are Freshman Seminars in Philosophy, high-fives at Convocation, Sno-to-Go on sunny days, Saturday tea-parties in New Town and three hour Chemistry labs. These, among other instances, make us feel that we a part of the community, a part of time here at the College.

I’ve been fortunately blessed to be a part of time in a different way than I ever thought I would be this summer. I’m working as an Admissions Intern and I have loved it so far. The people I work with are vivacious and excited about William and Mary. Right now it’s just JB, Ryan, Richard and me with all the Deans and Admission staff. I have enjoyed the thrills of sweltering tours as well as talking with eager prospective and admitted students on the complicated phones. Oh yeah, and we’ve been doing data entry stuff too, which is by far my favorite task. Well, maybe not, but still, it’s all worthwhile. I can’t wait to see what’s next…
