Rain, Rain, Go Away…

So, my friendly readers. Spring time is upon us at the College of William and Mary. But March is over, it came in like a lion and out like a lamb and all that nonsense. There is one thing I would like to know though, where is the LAMB? That my friends is the question of the day. For the last week and a half Williamsburg weather has been all over the place. I kind of feel like it is like that Katy Perry song, “Hot and Cold.” MAKE UP YOUR MIND! I would love a sun tan, the chance to wear a cute dress and flip flops to church on Sunday instead of my raincoat and rain boots.

Which leads me to my next point: running. Everyone who knows me knows that I love to run, and would rather put on a pair of shorts and running shoes and go for a long run than stay inside and watch the rain. But since the weather has been so silly this spring, I have had to confine myself to the treadmill at the rec. Not that I’m complaining, the rec is a great place to take a run and relax. But I cannot wait for the weather to get just a little warmer. For the sun to shine. I never thought I’d ever be so desperate for a sunburn. I guess I can’t complain though, it’s only the second week of April, and we have had a couple glorious days that have brought the entire campus out of hibernation. Hopefully a few more days like that and we will be in full summer mode!

Finally, I can’t wait to enjoy what good weather means here on campus. Good weather not only means that summer is coming, exams will soon be finished, but it means SO many exciting events! Next weekend we have Foxfields, which is a famous horse race that a lot of students here on campus attend. We also have King and Queens, which is one of the best nights of the year. The sunken gardens gets turned into a huge dance floor and it is a huge formal dance for the whole school! So much fun, and food, and good friends! Fridays at 5 are also a blast, and I love listening to the live music on the Sadler Center terrace and enjoying the good weather. So, as a final plea Williamsburg weather, rain go away! Come again another day!
