Sno-to-go

For months I had heard about it. A little hole-in-the-wall place on Richmond Rd. just before you get to the outlets…but really? Snow cone stuffed with soft serve just does not sound like something you want to eat. So finally last summer Ben and I decided to give it a shot. After all, he was about to start his senior year and if he graduated without having tried Sno-to-go it would apparently be a crime of monstrous proportions.

We walked up and began inspecting the menu. The first one that caught my eye was the “Ninja Turtle” which combines Margarita, Kiwi, Granny Smith Apple, and Lemon Lime flavors. In the end, I ordered Swizzleberry which combined several different berry flavors and Ben ordered Kermit the Frog. The first bite can only be described as a weird sensation on your tongue, after the first bite, though, I was hooked! The interviewers are already planning a post-work sno-to-go trip.

There are lots of “traditions” like this at William & Mary. Wawa is another one. People joke that if the Wawa accross the street added a gas station, it would be the top grossing Wawa in Virginia because of it’s student business. It is true, not a myth, that you will see more people hanging out at Wawa at 1am than at 1pm. It is a great place to grab a cup of coffee before your 8am class or a late night sub when you and your friends are in need of a midnight snack. Things like Wawa and Sno-to-go are clearly not what makes William and Mary a great school, but they are just a few of the things that make it unique. It is things like heading to Wawa with a big group of friends at midnight and bonding over the strange taste combination of sno-to-go that add to the community that makes this school amazing.
