One Tribe Y’all
We Admit It! We’re pretty excited about the upcoming Day for Admitted Students. Okay, we’re over-the-moon, so-ready-for-the-day-to-get-here, can’t-wait-to-celebrate-the-Class-of-2017, out-of-our-minds enthusiastic. Saturday can’t get here soon enough. So, future members of the Class of 2017, this blog is for you.
A few weeks ago we were so excited to send off the thick envelopes. Now we want to put all those names with faces. Come to campus on Saturday. Explore it. Soak it in. Meet our students, our faculty and our staff. Everyone, and we do mean everyone (and that includes a mythical beast that is 1/3 lion, 1/3 eagle and 1/3 awesome), will be on hand to make sure you have an amazing day discovering what W&M has in store for you over the course of the next four years.
Want to meet with our pre-professional program advisors? They’ll be there. Want to learn more about study abroad? We have a session for that. Want to explore the vast array of student organizations you can join as a member of the Tribe? The Activities Fair will help you with that. Have questions about fraternities and sororities? Our Greek Life staff will be on hand. Already decided to attend W&M and want to know what comes next? Our Orientation staff is also presenting a session. And then there’s the mock faculty lectures, the student panels, the spring football game, the sessions on everything from Career Services to residence life, the campus tours, the student performance showcase, the departmental open houses, the list goes on and on. This day is intentionally jam-packed so that you can determine whether or not W&M is the best fit for you.
More information about Day for Admitted Students including a schedule of events and registration information can be found through the Welcome website.
One Tribe and now it’s yours. Enjoy it. We’ll see you Saturday.

I can’t make it 🙁 ( I’m in Pakistan). But it sounds Amazing .
@Aima, totally understandable. If you have any questions about W&M that we can answer though, just let us know
It was such an awesome day! It gave me clarity to decide that I DO want to attend William & Mary! I am so excited to be a part of the Class of 2017.
@Hannah, welcome to the Tribe!
I’m curious re: stats – what countries are our incoming international students from?
Thx! 🙂
@Laura, we won’t know that until after May 1 when all admitted students must respond. We do know that currently our student body has 60 countries represented.
Hey Admit it!!! I am definitely going to William and Mary next year. Unfortunately I live to far away to come for a revisit day. My family and I were going to come down to Williamsburg during the summer and we were wondering if there was a revisit day in the summer or could we just walk around campus for fun!
@quick question, we don’t host an admitted student program over the summer especially since Orientation is in August right before classes begin. We do offer tours of course, you can get your student ID made, and of course just walk around.
Ok! thank you. Another thing, will I be able to go into buildings on campus with my student ID? My parents want to scope out William and Mary one cubic feet at a time
@quick question, our academic and administrative buildings are open during business hours so you can go into those at any time. If you take our tour you’ll be able to see a residence hall. If you get your ID it won’t be active until school starts.
I had a wonderful time with my oldest daughter who will be attending W&M this fall. I’m super excited for her, and looking forward to a successful college career. Go TRIBE!!!
@Keith, so glad to hear it. Welcome to the Tribe family!
So excited to be coming! Question- you said we can get our ID this summer if we are on campus but it won’t be “active” until the fall. Do you know if it would be allowed to use the pass to get into Colonial Williamsburg and to buy the parent’s discounted passes? Where exactly would one go to get the ID?
@sweating bullets, you can get your ID in the ID Office (located in the Campus Center). Not sure whether or not it can be used prior to the start of the fall semester to get discounted CW (Colonial Williamsburg) passses. The ID Office may be able to answer that question.
