Anyone want a piece of 3.14159?

Every year we hire a group of rising W&M seniors to serve as interviewers and tour guides for the summer. In addition they co-present our information sessions for visitors, work on a variety of projects, and generally bring a fresh perspective to the office. In fact, when an upcoming circuit of college fairs required us to submit a one-page summary of who’s who on the admission committee, two of the interns came up with the visual treatment below.pie

Is dessert a fitting symbol for a committee that tries to dole out just deserts? Not exactly, because there’s no such thing as just deserts when you have a small and highly selective college coupled with a large and highly qualified pool. There’s just not room for all who are deserving.

But we do put together all the right ingredients for an incoming class that, upon arrival, is pretty darn sweet.
