It’s that time of year again!

It’s no secret that William and Mary students are a committed, involved breed. With over 400 student organizations, W&M really knows how to give back to the College, the community, and the world. With the start of the Spring semester comes something that everyone looks forward to- philanthropy season. It’s the time of year when many of those 400 organizations choose to put on events that raise money for certain worthy causes. The grand opening to this infectiously entertaining three month span is Campus Golf, put on by the Kappa Delta sorority and held the third weekend in February. Students, faculty, and staff form teams of 4 to try to get the best score on one of three makeshift courses set up for the event. Music, food, fun, and a clever t-shirt are always delivered and several thousand dollars find their way to Avalon, a local women’s shelter.

It’s not just Campus Golf that gets students out to do a good deed or two. Other campus organizations, Greek and non-Greek alike, put on events that accomplish both fun and philanthropy all at the same time. The money raised from these events is donated to any number of local and national causes. From Colorblind Bocce to Theta Fourthmeal, Delta Phi Croquet, Kappa Kappasta, and more, William and Mary students know how to give back-and we do it in a big way.
