Can’t wait to call the Burg home

TribeHey Everyone!

As the summer is coming to an end, I am getting more and more anxious to come to the Burg and call it my home. I’m sure the other rising freshmen share the same feeling!  We are all one giant step closer after last Monday’s registration for classes, and shopping for all of our dorm supplies.  As for everyone, we are all trying to squeeze in as much summer-fun activities as we can, with only two weeks left of summer!

Lacy and Larson spent the last weekend in the burg moving into their apartment, and made their way to the Sunken Garden with everyone on Friday night for the triathlon. That Saturday, Durst and Lindsey went up to the burg and ate BBQ.  Maggie won a pet goldfish at her local county fair – I can’t wait to meet it!!!   Stacia is spending the remainder of her summer training hard and soaking up the sun on the beach with friends.  Lindsey was lucky enough to spend a week in Jamaica with her family, rock climbing waterfalls and relaxing on the beach.  Kristen went to visit her sister in Oklahoma and celebrate her brother-in-law’s birthday.  Larson spent the week at the beach with her family.  Marko, Lacy, Lindsey, and Durst went up to alum Mellissa Cream’s house with a bunch of other alums for the weekend in Jersey. Brandy has been training hard and working during the week, and spends her weekends camping, boating and spending time with her family and boyfriend.  She is heading to King’s Island on Tuesday for some fun!  Carleigh has packed her summer schedule tight with getting school stuff together and spending time with friends, but is psyched to get the burg and enjoy some themed events with the team!!!   She is now cleared to vault and tumble after her injury, so she’s starting to get back to work.

All in all, everyone has enjoyed the summer but is ready to be together again in the burg.  As for me, I’m trying to do everything I can at home and with my friends here before it is time for school.  My cousins from Chicago spent the past week at my house, so everyone loaded up the boats everyday to go fishing, to the beach, or spending time at the sand bar finding hundreds of sand dollars!  I’m also training in the gym everyday to keep in shape, and spend time with my JO teammates.  I always host a seasonal sleepover at my house for my teammates, so that will take place this upcoming week. There should be about 18 of us, or so!  One of my favorite summer activities is attending country concerts. This coming Friday, a bunch of friends and I are going to see Uncle Kracker, Billy Currington, and Kenny Chesney in Raleigh, NC!

I’m excited to get this season started; it will be awesome!  I’m counting down the days until we’re all together!  I hope everyone is staying cool, and enjoying the rest of summer!

GO TRIBE!
