Why W&M: Because of the bricks
My first stay in Williamsburg was before I knew anything about William & Mary I was visiting Busch Gardens with my family and was roaming around Colonial Williamsburg when I noticed that bricks were everywhere. I continued onto the W&M campus where I noticed more bricks. Even the Integrated Science Center had bricks. That was when I knew this was a cool place.
I had never noticed it before then, but I am strangely intrigued by bricks. For some reason, I associate bricks with nature. I think that they take me back in time to a world that was much more natural than now. I am not opposed to artificial things (especially because they make my life easier) but being surrounded by objects that I associate with nature helps me de-stress. Every time I think about studying for a test, I just stare at some bricks and instantly relax. Bricks give me motivation when I need it; they are awesome.
Think about the bricks. Think about how they make you feel. If they make you happy, come to W&M. I haven’t found another school that has more bricks. It has to be some kind of a record.
