Wanna know what happened this week on campus?!
This is such an exciting week! First of all, I would like to WELCOME you all to the one and only Tribe! It is so thrilling to see the 2015 Facebook group filled with bonding and excitement so quickly already.
Aside from the new additions to the Tribe, this week has been busy – a good kind of busy before the work for the last month of school starts piling up later this month. Alma Mater Productions, or AMP, is an organization on campus that is in charge of hosting fun activities on campus, ranging from trivia nights to comedy brews, and several music concerts throughout the school year, to name a few. This past Thursday, I got to meet one of my childhood heroes speak to us at Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall – Bill Nye! I made sure to arrive at the front of the hall early, and sure enough, I was one of the first 10 people in line, and snatched one of the seats in the second row. He looked and sounded exactly the same as I remember him from my elementary and middle school days. The next night, I got pumped for another exciting event – a concert DJ-ed by the Super Mash Bros. Let’s just say it was a crazy night – fun and full of lights, hot beats, and dancing. What a great release from the stress of upcoming papers and tests!
Next exciting event to look forward to this Sunday – the South Asian Student Association on campus is hosting an event to throw colored powder and colored water at each other on a field, in celebration of Holi, a spring religious festival celebrated by Hindus.
And that just about wraps up what a week at William and Mary looks like. Can’t wait for you all to come see what we are all about on Day for Admitted Students!
