A Break For Basketball
As an out-of-state student who calls home 1,700 miles away, going home was not an option for Spring Break. Freshman year, I had the opportunity to attend a training trip in Charleston, South Carolina with the Sailing Team. Sophomore year, I returned to Charleston with some friends in between regattas. Junior year, I vacationed in Miami with a group of friends, and friends-in-the-making. Now, as a Senior and an avid Tribe Basketball fan, I get the best of both worlds. As I write this, I am coming off my adrenaline high after a double overtime victory over Hofstra (check SportsCenter for highlights). Tonight, we take on Northeastern for the Championship.
After tonight’s game, I am getting right into a car and driving back to Charleston. One of my best friends at W&M, who I met during Orientation freshman year, lives in Charleston. The funny thing about Senior year is that you have friends from so many different circles. Friends from your Freshman Seminar, your friends’ freshman halls, your club sport, and friends you made on the terrace, just passing by. This Spring Break, I am spending time with friends from all these various circles. I plan on using my time to sleep in, eat a lot, relax on the beach, and exploring the area. It has been an awesome four years and I can’t wait to take some time and celebrate (a Tribe victory tonight? Fingers crossed!) with friends that I will have for a lifetime!Talk to you all soon!
