Scavenger Hunt
This past Saturday[1], I participated in Landrum, Chandler, and Lodges campus wide event Scavenger hunt. I learned a lot about William and Mary, probably more than I care to know such as how many black square tiles there are in Blair Hall, how many classrooms are in Tyler, and how many parking spaces are in Zable Stadium[2]. Though most teams had four people, my team consisted of me and my sorority sister but we made the best of it. Though we did not get the four Wiis that the winning team won, one of the resident assistants helping with the program said we scored higher than a lot of four man teams so that made us feel better. It was a lot of fun and provided for some healthy W&M competition. However, here are some tips if you plan on participating in any Scavenger hunts here at the college:
a. Bring a flashlight! Cell phone lights are not best when you are running around at 9pm looking at plaques on the ground outside
b. Google is a blessing… that is all I’m going to say
c. Be smart and split up your team. Photocopy the scavenger list of questions if you have to so people will know the questions they have to answer; you don’t want your teammates to find answers to questions that were never asked
d. Make sure you have a psychic teammate; that will make things much easier and they can tell you if you are going to win a snuggie or not
e. Be super excited when you win raffle prizes even if it is as small as a coupon for a free Chick-Fil-A milkshake; your excitement is bound to make someone smile
f. Don’t listen to evil students who tell you there are no answers in a certain area after they have come from where you were about to look; 9 times out of ten they are lying to you so they can eliminate their competition[3]
g. Thank God for the little things you bring to college such as a purple bear or power ranger pillowcase [4]; these random bits of joy can get you points on a Scavenger hunt at William and Mary

[2] Why do I need to know how many parks are in Zable, I can’t get a resident park there ever.
[3] W&M students are cutthroat! Dang it’s just for fun!
[4] Or Stitch stuffed animal, or a karate belt
