S.T.A.R. Paradise

This summer at William and Mary, I am a counselor for the Science Training and Research (STAR) program run by the Office of Multicultural Affairs. The kids in attendance are bright individuals who are very determined to succeed on their SATs. Even though the job is time consuming and challenging at times, the personalities you get to interact with make the job enjoyable.

We are in the second week of class for the high school students and we have done the ropes course by Lake Matoaka, we have had movie night where we watched the Uninvited, Taken, and Madea goes to jail, and we have bombarded the Baskin Robbins employees with our 25 orders. I enjoy all the kids thoroughly because they have very bright futures while maintaining their individual swag. I would recommend this program to any high school child willing to work hard and interested in improving their SAT score. I would also recommend William and Mary students to apply as counselors because few are aware of its rewarding experience. As you can see, William and Mary offers great opportunities for students of all ages.
