The End is in Sight
Admit It! Knowing that all of your application materials arrived at the various admission offices of the institutions to which you are applying is a huge relief. We feel the same way about processing applications. We have made a major step in that direction. As of January 27, 2011, all freshman Common applications have been received and processed. Whether you submitted your application online or by mail, we have completed the process of uploading that application to our applicant database. Every applicant and his/her parent(s) (assuming you provided your parents’ email address in your application) will have received an initial email confirming receipt of your Common Application and W&M Supplement. That application also provides you a W&M Application ID number.
You and your parents will receive a second email when we have matched all of your other materials with your application and your application is complete. If any required component is missing, the applicant will be emailed. Any missing materials simply need to be re-submitted as soon as possible. No penalty or disadvantage is assessed.
Onwards towards April for us all!

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have received my W&M Application ID number but failed to find anywhere on the W&M website to check my application status. What can I do with this Application ID number?
Sincerely,
Wan Wen Angel Chen (Angel)
Angel, there is no where to check your status online. You should have received one more email after the initial one that gave you your W&M Application ID. That second email either let you know your application was complete or let you know what your application is missing. If you are a freshman applicant you should have received both emails by now. If you’re a transfer applicant, you may not yet have received the second email because we are still processing those applications.
If you are a freshman applicant and haven’t received the second email, please contact our Office at 757-221-4223 ASAP so we can let you know the status of your application. If it’s incomplete, we need to complete it quickly as we will release decisions in a few weeks.
