I’m married now
It has been a while since I last posted, but the office has been busy with processing and beginning the review of applications. I hope to continue this series throughout our process. Our large conference room has become a second mail/sorting room. Our hallway has become an alphabetizing workplace and our individual offices are becoming full of optional submissions. Now this may all sound like fun, and at times it can be, but it is also a very demanding time for us. Because we are all on a different reading schedule, days go by without ever seeing some of my colleagues. When I see Tish, Amanda, Kia or Wendy it is as if we were on a holiday break and we all have to catch up with one another again.
It is currently 9:15 pm on Sunday evening and I have just finished my reading for the week. We are all suppose to read x-number of files per week and for a lot of us it includes reading in the evenings and on the weekends. So, do I have a life? Of course I do. I am married to transcripts, I am dating a girl I call essay and occasionally have dinner with SATs and extracurricular(EC) activities. They treat me well most days, but some days they are not as nice. I have cheated on one essay with another. I may be with one EC when another one more attractive catches my eye. At the end of the day, however, everyone will have their chance with me, and/or another one of my colleagues. Some matches will end in a happy marriage, while others will fizzle out before they even get started. I will continue to let you know how my love life with applications turns out over the next couple of months.
