Decisions, Decisions – #wm2019 (aka 2015 Regular Decision Admit Edition)
We Admit It! We are so psyched to welcome all of you to the Tribe and the Class of 2019. You are so incredibly smart and talented and accomplished. You were selected from nearly 15,000 applications; you are, without a doubt, the best of the best. Yes, “Good Things” means what you think it means. Congratulations! You’re in.
So now the really hard work: you have to decide where to spend the next four years. Sure we’re biased but we think William & Mary should be that place. In the coming days your formal admission packet should arrive in the mail. That packet will contain more information about W&M as well as an invitation to our Day for Admitted Students on April 11. The entire campus is excited to welcome you to Williamsburg and to show you what W&M has to offer. We encourage you to attend if you’re able; it’s our absolute favorite day of the year. If you can’t make it to campus on the 11th, consider a myWM Monday visit. These programs are a great way to explore campus and help you to make an enrollment decision.
We also encourage you to explore the Welcome website (linked in your decision email), the #wm2019 tagboard (come on, let’s make #wm2019 trending) the @thecrimtell Twitter feed run by our Admission Ambassadors and the Class of 2019 Facebook group (linked on the Welcome website). All of these are designed to welcome you to campus and to help you learn more about what we hope is your future alma mater.
But right now, pat yourself on the back, get a high five (or give yourself one), do a victory dance, breathe a sigh of relief. You’ve earned it. And better yet, capture it and post it using the hashtag #wm2019. We are shouting and tweeting from the rooftops and we hope you will too. Tribe Pride is a powerful thing and today that pride is in you. We think you will add so much to our campus, and we are eager for you to explore what W&M has to offer.

Associate Dean of Admission

When will St Andrews Notifications be sent? Didnt get one
@Lexington, sorry for the tardy response. Did you see the blog on our general release (not decision specific). It has a few bullet points on the release of St Andrews decisions.

Wow, sorry must have missed that i only looked at this one since i was an ED admit. Thanks for your reply
@Lexington, no worries. That decision should come in the next day or so.
I just have to say… this blog really helped me through the about 3 months long waiting process. In a way, it was really comforting to know what was happening behind the “admissions curtains”.
@Jessika, so glad we could be helpful.
Congrats to everyone admitted! I was admitted ED this year and am excited to see the Class of 2019 forming! Welcome to the Tribe!
Just received my acceptance, and I am so excited! I do wonder, when do the St. Andrews Joint Degree Programme decisions come out?
@St. Andrews Enthusiast, see our Decisions, Decisions Blog that outlines all the logistics of decision releases (http://wmblogs.wm.edu/admiss/decisions-decisions-2015-regular-decisions-released/). There’s a few bullets dedicated to joint degree programme applicants.
How and when is Monroe Scholar selection communicated? Does no mention in the decision email mean a student was not and will not be selected? Thanks.
@GBR, those selected as Monroe Scholars, who applied Regular Decision, were notified via email and mail earlier this month. There were a very small handful of Monroe Scholars named after those notifications went out and they will find out when they receive their actual packet and letter in the mail.
Congratulations to all the hard working students who have been accepted to WM Class of 2019! My son was there one year ago. Everything from the acceptance letter to admitted students day to crazy, insane orientation (say your private goodbyes because there will be NO time once you pull up to dorm!) was wonderful. It provides terrific insight to the quality that WM is. Your wonderful family will soon give you to this wonderful family.
Is there an alternate way of finding out your University ID than from the admissions packet? I seemed to have misplaced it and need the ID to register for the admitted students day..
@Shani, it’s also in your decision email and the emails we sent confirming receipt of your application and completing your application. If you don’t have those you can callus Monday and we can give it to you.
Hi! Just wondering around when we’ll receive a financial aid estimate for the 2015-2016 school year? Financial aid is really my determining factor for what school I’ll be attending next year. Thanks in advance!
@Admitted Student, generally students are emailed about a week or so after receiving their decision with instructions for viewing their estimated financial aid package online.
It’s been great fun on this journey with all of you. D1 has decided not to join you in Williamsburg, however, electing to go to a certain blue-and-orange school in Charlottesville instead. Thank you everyone for all your input and insights, and enjoy college!
@FCDAD, congrats to your daughter on her admission to a wonderful school. We’re sad she won’t be attending W&M but we wish her all the best.
…admission to *two* wonderful schools, but she could only choose one of them.
I was admitted ED but I still have not received my admit packet. What should I do?
@Megan, we’re sorry you haven’t received it. You can see all the contents online on the admitted student site at any time. If you wish us to mail you another you can contact our office and we will be happy to send another one your way. We do believe they experienced a bit of a mailing delay so they’re just taking a bit longer to arrive than anticipated.
I was admitted as a transfer student just recently. Is there a website a can visit to interact with newly admitted students or current students to help with my transition to the College of William and Mary?

@Kobe, there’s a link in your decision email to our admitted transfer student website. There are lots of great resources there including links to an admitted transfer student Facebook group where you can interact with current and other admitted transfer students.
