Admitted Students 2022 – Welcome to W&M!

We Admit It! After months of reading applications, attending committee meetings, and making final decisions, we can finally share the good news: Welcome! That’s right, you’ve been accepted to William & Mary as a part of the Class of 2026!

Feel free to do a little dance, shout it from the rooftops, sing that special song, and most importantly, put on that green and gold. Because you have earned it. Out of about 18,050 applicants, all of whom were fantastic and talented individuals, we chose you. In short, you are the best of the best.

We use the term “earned” above because this accomplishment was exactly that: earned. You have spent countless hours challenging yourself in and out of the classroom in order to put yourself in this position. Throughout a year filled with loss and isolation, cancelled milestones, and virtual learning, you still made the most of it. All of your hard work has earned you this admission offer, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish as a member of our community.

We know that you might still have a final decision to make, and that’s okay! As your admission counselors, we want you to make the best decision possible for you and your family. That being said, we are a little biased, and we hope that you will be joining us in the fall. We would love for you to visit us this April for our admitted student events – Day for Admitted Students, You Belong, or Green & Gold Days to experience what William & Mary has to offer. You can find registration information inside your application status portal. We are excited for you to engage with our community, learn more about our programs and departments, and hopefully help you make your final decision about calling William & Mary home for the next four years!

We encourage you to explore your student portal, the Welcome site (linked in your portal), and join the Class of 2026 Facebook group. These are great ways to learn about our university, and to get you excited about making Williamsburg your home.

Take some time off to celebrate with your family and friends. Get that William & Mary sweatshirt you have been dying to get for months. Post on social media with #wm2026 (we’ve even created a few stickers and GIFs on the Welcome site to help you share the news). It’s been a long journey, but you have made it and we will be celebrating with you every step of the way.

We’ve been waiting a long time to say this: Welcome to William & Mary!
