The Tony Awards

Hello readers!

So, yesterday in New York was a GREAT day. Besides the fact that I have come down with a tiny touch of a cold, some say swine flu, but I say cold. I’m a New Yorker now! I’m tough as nails! Anyway, I digress…yesterday, for those of you who are non-theater obsessed crazies like myself, was the presentation of the Tony Awards. The Tony’s are Broadway’s most special night. A night to show everyone just how excellent, glamorous, and talented the stars of the stage really are.

Being in New York I was able to travel down to Radio City Music Hall with two my of my girl friends here and watch the red carpet. By watch I mean stand on my tip toes behind baracades across the street trying my very best to peer between the professional photographers on the other side of the street who are ACTUALLY there taking the photographs. It was a really cool experience nonetheless. Being able to be that close to something that I love so much: live theater, was really awe inspiring. Even seeing d-list celebrities like Brett Michaels made my night! Hopefully someday I will be able to walk down that red carpet and wave to students across the street just like me standing on their tip toes just to get a photograph.

After the brew ha ha had all settled we walked down to a mexican restaurant down in times square and enjoyed the rest of the evening gossiping over who we thought would win best musical, or best revival. I am so lucky to be in New York. Literally the city that never sleeps. I know I won’t sleep after being so star struck!
