Get Excited for Orientation
Everyone’s all abuzz (or about to be) with acceptance letters. The turnaround is pretty quick, and before you know it, you’ll be entering Orientation. My journey was a little different as a spring transfer—my acceptance letter came in December and in just about a month I was standing in line waiting to take my W&M ID picture. My Orientation experience was invaluable, and I’m sure yours will be, too. The spring Orientation group was a bit smaller than the fall one, so we were able to do things like go on a ghost tour of Colonial Williamsburg and go to the movies. I was incredibly nervous going into Orientation (it’s a big change and that can be scary!), but I soon realized that everyone around me was in the same boat. I made some of my greatest friends then, so while you may be a tad apprehensive going into it, keep your head up and eyes open because you’re about to enter one of the greatest pools of people you’ll ever meet. Whether you’ll be going through Orientation in August or in the spring, take advantage of this awesome time!
