T’was the Tribe
T’was sophomore year and all thru Landrum hall
Students were remembering good times from the fall
They were studying, chatting and working with care
With hopes that someday they would leave their mark there
Midnight Wawa raids when they should be tucked in bed
Neon marathon outfits from the 80’s still aren’t dead
Sunken Garden days, an impromptu birthday rap
Blindfolding, barn dancing, and going off the map
When out on the terrace arose such a clatter
Only Rancers dancing, it was really no matter
All around campus we ran in a flash
AMP worked for hours to throw a concert bash
Fireworks and Yule Log made their faces glow
As they took a break from finals to dance out in the snow
When what to everyone’s surprise should appear?
But the Green and Gold dance, the fun doesn’t stop here…
With a group of 15 so lively and quick
We knew in a moment this night would be sick
Sure students were packed in from window to wall
But no one even cared we were having a ball
Post dancing to Dunkin’ Donuts we came
So fast the cashier could not call out each name
Now seniors! Now juniors! Now sophomores and freshmen
On Revely! On Ambler! On admissions and wren!
And then there was sweater night and pancakes, oh my
Caroling, boxing and photo booth time
They looked at the calendar and oh how time flew
Swem dates, Sadler sits, and Aromas coffee too
To all of the students, I give you mad props
We’re finished with finals, but the fun never stops
What good times we’ve had when I begin to look around
And the joy that we’ll see as we’re second semester bound
So cheers to a year that has truly been the best
To friendship and laughter, a life full of zest
But I must exclaim before I send this out of sight
Merry Christmas to my Tribe, and to all a good night!
