Laura Olsen (’08, at left), co-leader of SOMOS for 2007-2008, was selected as one of three inaugural Laura Bush UNESCO fellows. She used the grant money to return to the Dominican Republic to help with community research for the SOMOS international service/engaged scholarship project in Paraiso. Laura currently is a graduate student in public health at George Washington University where she will complete the master’s degree before entering the Peace Corps.
