About Abby Gomulkiewicz
I was a member of the inaugural class of the College of William and Mary and the University of St Andrews Joint Degree Program. I was a history major who loved studying Colonial American history and European monarchies. At William and Mary, I was involved with the Undergraduate History Review, the Russian Club and the National Institute of American History and Democracy (NIAHD) as well as being a sister in Phi Mu.
So there are some basic facts you might read should you pick up a magazine article about me. However, I am much more than what I do or accomplish. When asked to describe myself, I often say that if you were to combine The Economist, Vogue and Sports Illustrated then you might have some idea about the type of person I am. I am that girl who climbs trees in an Easter dress and includes baseball analogies while she debates. Catherine the Great is my hero and I admire the style and elegance of Princess Grace. My friends say if I lived in the past I would have a salon in Paris during the 18th century. Someday, I hope to work in the governance of a historical foundation.
Scotland and the University of St Andrews provided a new adventure for me. This blog created a space where you become involved in my adventure. So watch out because here comes the short red head in a dress!

Looking out of my dorm window, I find myself wondering how recently I could have been in Virginia enjoying humidity and Colonial American architecture.
It is incredible that in a little over two weeks I will be in Scotland walking up and down the cobbled streets of Fife.
