Amanda Gunderson

Lora FarisHey y’all! My name is Amanda Gunderson, and I am a junior pursuing a Finance major and Public Health minor. I am thrilled to represent the W&M Admission Office as one of the Grassroots Interns. As a native Northern Virginian, I grew up in Alexandria and attended West Potomac High School. Growing up I devoted much of my time to academics, athletics and volunteering in the community—this probably sounds a lot like your college application, am I right?

On campus, I am largely involved in Greek Life and New Student Orientation. As the former Recruitment Chairman and now Vice President of my social sorority, I have dedicated a lot of my time and energy to developing the Panhellenic community. I have also participated as an Orientation Aide in New Student Orientation, a week welcoming new students to the College. Outside of extracurricular activities, one of my main passions is running. Not only do I enjoy the rush of discovering new Williamsburg wonders, but I also believe it is the best activity for mental and physical health. Fun fact: this past year I qualified for the Boston Marathon!

Throughout my time at the College, I have stepped outside of my comfort zone, met people who have left an exceptional impact, and grown academically – and emotionally. I look forward to sharing my unforgettable experiences and learning of yours through the blog!

Elisabeth Bloxam

Elisabeth BloxamHi there! My name is Elisabeth Bloxam and I’m a junior at the College. I’m majoring in Global Studies, with a concentration in European Studies, and in French & Francophone Studies. Although I’ve been settled in Northern Virginia since third grade, I come from a military family and spent a lot of my childhood moving around. (Want to know the fun fact that nobody ever guesses about me? I was born on an Air Force base in South Korea!)

On campus, I’m a Monroe Scholar, a member of a social sorority, and have recently been elected to the Undergraduate Honor Council. I just got back from a semester abroad and have loved settling back into life at the College, even though it did mean swapping baguettes for Einstein’s bagels. As a junior, I’m trying my hardest to take advantage of the time I have left at the College and to give back to the school that’s given me so much. I’m so excited to help welcome the Class of 2018!

Mark Bland

Mark BlandHey everyone! My name is Mark, and I am a sophomore majoring in Government and minoring in Public Health here at the College. I am from Purcellville, Virginia, but Williamsburg has become my home away from home.

On campus I serve as a tour guide, Orientation Diversity Facilitator, and a member of the Student Leadership Foundation. I am also a member of the Student Alumni Council, a social fraternity, and William & Mary’s chapter of Charity Water. You can find me exploring Colonial Williamsburg, hanging out with friends on the Terrace, and playing croquet with the W&M Croquet Club. This summer I will be interning in my favorite city, Washington DC, as a member of the W&M DC Summer Institute Leadership and Community Engagement Cohort.

This is my second semester as a spring intern at the Office of Undergraduate Admission and it’s exciting to help welcome the Class of 2018! Feel free to contact me at any point with any questions whether about William & Mary or the college application process. Go Tribe!

Kelley Quinzio

Kelley QuinzioHey y’all! My name is Kelley Quinzio, and I am a senior with a Psychology major and Anthropology minor. I am moving to Kennebunk, Maine in August for post-bac classes before applying to Accelerated BSN programs. Eventually I want to join the Army or Air Force as a flight nurse. I am a Williamsburg native, so William & Mary will forever be my home. Growing up, my friends and I took advantage of living so close to the river and spent most of our free time on the water. I also really love to travel, both in and around the country, but also abroad; my favorite place I’ve visited so far is probably the Latin Quarter in Paris.

Right now, I am the social media intern in the Admission Office, as well as a Tour Guide. Outside of Admission, I am the committee chair of our Bone Marrow Drive, a member of AMP’s Special Events committee, a member of the Red Cross Blood Drives, and a member of the PR committee for Senior Class Gift. When I’m not doing all of that, I am conducting developmental psychology research, going to hot yoga and training for my second Tough Mudder.

I only have 100 days until graduation, and I plan on savoring every last minute with the people that have been with me on this wild ride that we call college.

Devyn Harris

Devyn HarrisMy name is Devyn Harris, I am a senior majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Economics here at the college. I grew up all over the world, but I now consider myself a proud New Englander hailing from Exeter, NH. This semester I am super excited to work as the Spring Grassroots and Programing intern, getting the campus pumped for your arrival on Day For Admitted Students.

Like most William & Mary students, I do my best to stay involved in campus. I am a tour guide, a math and writing tutor for elementary school students, I play club volleyball, and I am part of the Pubic Health Brigades. In Williamsburg, I love to drive down the Colonial Parkway, go on cider walks in Colonial Williamsburg, and go to the Jamestown Pie Company where you can find the best chocolate pecan pie in the world! When I’m not exploring Williamsburg with my friends, I supply my Netflix addiction with marathons of Scandal and Doctor Who.

These last four years have been some of the best of my life, and I am looking forward to showing you how wonderful W&M can be!
