Erin Spencer
Hey all! My name is Erin and I’m a sophomore double majoring in Marine Science and Environmental Policy here at William & Mary. I hope to eventually specialize in reef conservation and restoration (what other career pays you to wear shorts to work and scuba dive every day?). I’m from a very small town north of Baltimore, Maryland, but I’m so happy to call this campus my second home!
On campus, I’m a member of a social sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and an active member of the Student Alumni Council. I am also on the sailing team and am a photographer for an on-campus literary magazine, The Gallery. If I’m not sailing or riding my horse, King, you can probably find me lounging on the Terrace or with my friends down by Lake Matoaka. Some other fun facts about me- I love sharks, have a weakness for Mexican food, and am addicted to Diet Coke. So far, my time at W&M has been better than I ever could have imagined. From spontaneous adventures (like late night football in the pouring rain), to deep heart-to-hearts with my hallmates, I’ve had so many memorable experiences. I can’t wait for you all to start your adventures as new members of the Tribe. Feel free to contact me (or any of the other interns) with questions or comments you may have- that’s what we’re here for!
Jonathan Hulme
Hey, everyone! Congrats on your acceptance to W&M! My name is Jonathan Hulme, and I am a junior here at the College, studying Public Policy and Marketing. I am from Virginia Beach, about an hour south from here. I love to surf during the hot summer days, and ride my beach cruiser on the cool nights. I would have to say, that I am a pretty relaxed and easy-going person. On campus, I am very involved with my a cappella group, The Gentlemen of the College, which is one of eleven different co-ed, all-women, and all-male a cappella groups! Besides singing, I also play piano. It is definitely one of my passions! I have three sisters, (I am the only guy) and they constantly spoil me. I still, however, profess to have absolutely no knowledge of females and the way they think. My admission story: I transferred in as a sophomore in the spring of 2011 from Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach. I cannot even begin to tell you how coming to William & Mary was by far the best decision that I have ever made. I hope you will continue to follow my blog posts, and that I will be able to share a little bit, here and there, of why I am so passionate about the College! Besides being one this spring’s programming interns at the Undergraduate Office of Admission, I am also a Transfer Student Ambassador and frequently meet with students for lunches, tours, and sit on panel discussions about the College.
Kate Maccagnan
Hey class of 2016! Congratulations on your acceptance to William & Mary and welcome to the Tribe! My name is Kate Maccagnan. I’m a senior and one of the Spring Programming Interns here in the Office of Undergraduate Admission. I am majoring in Sociology and minoring in Art History. As a military kid I have lived in a long list of places including New Jersey, Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and most recently Germany. My parents now live in Chesapeake, Virginia so that is where I currently call home. On campus, I am a member of a social sorority and am active in the Orientation program. I am also a member of the Student Alumni Council and play for the women’s club soccer team. I love to travel and I have three cats. One of which weighs the combined weight of the other two. Sadler Center omelets are my favorite morning breakfast and I am proud to say I am one of the very few seniors who still have a meal plan. Soon you too will be determining your favorite dining hall and sunbathing in the Sunken Garden. Get ready for the best few years of your life thus far! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns, and make sure to check back here for frequent blog updates!
Justin Fitze
Hey guys! My name is Justin Fitze and I am currently a sophomore here at the College majoring in Accounting and minoring in Mathematics. I’m from Greenlawn, New York on Long Island and absolutely love the contrast between my two homes. I frequently get asked what made me come down to William & Mary from New York while volunteering in the admissions office as a Tribe Ambassador. The reasons are endless and I hope to make them apparent through my blogs! On campus, I am also part of a social fraternity and a member of the Club Tennis team. I have been playing tennis since middle school and really enjoy that I can continue competing during my college years. My other interests include traveling (I plan to study abroad next year), ping-pong, whistling, and building legos. My favorite meal would have to be a Belgian waffle and cranberry juice (luckily for me, the dining halls have both!). Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just want to chat! Congratulations to the Class of 2016 and get ready for the best years of your life!
Lora Faris
Hi Everyone! Congratulations on being accepted to William & Mary, we are so lucky to have you! Anyways, enough about all of you… My name is Lora Faris and I’m a senior at The College of William & Mary. I’m definitely excited for what’s to come, but I’m pretty nostalgic for the past three and a half years. In my time at William & Mary, I have always tried to stay busy. I have been involved in the Admission Office as a Tribe Ambassador, Tour Guide, Senior Interviewer and now as a Spring Program Intern. Outside of Admission, I have spent my time involved in a social sorority, playing women’s rugby, AMP (our campus programming board), working as a Marketing Intern for Avalon: A Center for Women and Children, being an Orientation Aide and studying abroad. Being at William & Mary has presented me with a million opportunities (something for you to look forward to) and I would love to answer questions that you have about anything!
