Anna Mahalak

Anna MahalakMy driver’s license may say – Anna Mahalak, 18 year old female from Monroe, Michigan – but, in my heart, I am 10 years old, still waiting for my acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Instead of Hogwarts, I attended a different type of boarding school for grades 9-12 called The Culver Academies. Coming to William and Mary, it was the first time I didn’t have to wear a required uniform and it was a thrill to wake up every morning and have OPTIONS. But I mean more than clothing options – I had so many choices to make about what to do outside the classroom, but I think I picked some pretty great opportunities to get involved in. For example, my Spring Admission Internship allowed me to work with prospective students! I was also a part of the Sharpe Community Scholars program, allowing me to get a head start in service at the College with activities like tutoring and Spring Break mission trips. As for academics, I took advantage of the Community Studies minor, which started in the fall of 2009, complimenting a major in Government. For relaxation, I split my time between playing intramural basketball, hanging out in CW (Colonial Williamsburg) with my freshman hall mates and attending events with my sorority sisters.

Brynn Koeppen

Brynn KoeppenHi everyone and welcome to William and Mary! My name is Brynn and I majored in International Relations. I am from McLean Virginia, but I have been called a “Williamsburg townie returned” because Williamsburg is where I was born. I am also a Capricorn and a happy vegetarian. One thing I love about William & Mary is that you as a student have infinite opportunities to try new and exciting things. For example, I was a Flat Hat (the College newspaper) staff writer and a member of the Club sailing team, two things that I did not participate in while in high school. I truly hope I have helped with any questions about William & Mary, and, CONGRATULATIONS! You did it!

David Mendler

David MendlerHey everyone! My name is David Mendler and I am from Gaithersburg, MD which is about a three hour drive from Williamsburg. I was a Psychology and Theatre double major, which (to say the least) is usually seen as an interesting combination. Based on my majors, you can probably tell I have a big interest in being on stage and dedicated a lot of my time to William & Mary Theatre. I got involved in as many productions as I could. While not performing, I also enjoyed playing tennis, watching movies and making frequent runs to the nearest Starbucks. I love going on vacations with my family, especially skiing in Colorado. I love to ski and have done it all my life, but I would really like to learn how to snowboard. And last but not least, my favorite restaurant is Chipotle and I’m pretty sure that I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life.

Mary Bonney

Mary BonneyHey future Tribe Members! I am Mary Bonney from McLean, Virginia and I majored in Economics and English. You would typically find me on campus singing my ‘doo wah doo’s and ‘jhen da jhen’s with my a cappella group (cooler than it sounds), volunteering with my service organization Campus Kitchens or walking across campus lip-synching to my iPod pretending I was in a music video. My favorite place to go would be a tie between Disney World and any rock concert. I usually only eat food found on the kids menu. I loved W&M and all the amazing things to do there – I tried to take advantage of every opportunity from writing for our newspaper to taking weekly hip-hop classes at the Rec. I hope when you come in the fall you will too! Check out our Admission
