Mini-Inter-Squad

Tribe Gymnastics Fans,

The team has been hard at work the past couple of weeks and it definitely showed during our mini-inter-squad we had this past Friday (Nov. 11). Although we’ve been doing pressure sets in the gym, Mary wanted to make those pressure sets a little more “realistic” and divided us into our teams for the entire day. The day consisted of timed warm ups, three-minute touches, and solutes before every routine; we tried to incorporate as many “meet-like” things as we could. All around, the day went very smoothly and as a team we are looking very strong with a lot of potential. By now the freshmen seem to be very well adjusted to the gym atmosphere, and for me it has been so cool watching them perform their first pressure sets – I couldn’t be more proud of them for their hard work! Be sure to check out the highlight videos on our Facebook page, Mary has uploaded a good amount of videos that really show off how hard people are working in the gym!!

We took a trip down memory lane Sunday (Nov. 13) by volunteering at a little girls’ club gymnastics meet at the WISC (Williamsburg Indoor Sports Complex). Allie Wheeler, our senior manager, coaches the Level 4 team at the WISC and for many of them it was their first meet! I can remember my first meet like it was yesterday, and I hope we helped make their experience a little more memorable! All of the little girls seem to really look up to everyone on the team, and I think everyone on the team would agree it was a very humbling experience to work with all of them.

Well, Green and Gold is in a little over two weeks, and I can’t believe how fast this semester has gone by. But, remember to check out our videos and stay tuned for the result of this week’s mini-inter-squad!

ONE TRIBE. ONE FAMILY.
