More music than anywhere

One of my absolute favorite things about William & Mary is that it’s easy to find music wherever you go. On Friday afternoons after classes are done, I have only one commitment- going to Fridays @ 5, AMP’s signature concert series that brings awesome music groups to the Sadler Center Terrace for an outdoor concert experience unlike any other.

As a member of AMP (Alma Mater Productions) Music Committee, I am part of the group that books many of the concerts during the academic year. In the past, some of my favorite shows have been the Cool Kids, the Ting Tings, and Carbon Leaf, but not all the groups we bring are big names. Fridays @ 5 usually brings smaller groups that are just getting on the scene. Heard of Dr. Dog or Parachute? Those and many more got their start on the Fridays @ 5 stage.

What’s best about the show is the atmosphere. The SC Terrace is in the heart of campus, so there are always people passing through. After a long week of classes, it’s so relaxing to just sit around with my friends, listen to a great band, and soak in the William & Mary scene.
