Blast from the Past

Wow, this picture is ollllllllld.

We’re having interview training this week, and we just finished up a session this morning about this exciting new blog program we interns are helping get started. One new idea we heard today about our blogs was to post a picture and just a few lines of text. “A picture is worth more than 1,000 words” they told us. And I thought, “What a great idea.”

So THIS priceless (and oh so memorable) pic is from freshman year. Wowwwww. So young. 🙂 Anyway, one of my

freshman roomies ( I had a triple that year) and I are doing just what it looks like we’re doing…screwdrivers in hand, we’re taking apart a DVD player. Why, you ask? Simple and entertaining enough story.

All dorms on campus have Duty Offices, and using your student ID, you can rent out (for free!) movies, DVD players, vaccuums, and board games, among other things. We had rented out the DVD player that day, and then, like a genius, I’d picked up the DVD player with the DVD still inside, turned it over on its side, and succeeded in getting the DVD lodged inside the player. Way to go. 🙂

So here is our photographic evidence of the highly-advanced, very skilled handiwork that went into taking that DVD player apart, rescuing the DVD, and putting it all back together in order to return to the Duty Office in working condition.

Oh, the new talents you acquire while in college…
