World Globetrotters:

We had a visit from Guru Ghosh today.  He is the director of Global Education in our International Studies office.  It was really an interesting hour as he spoke to us about all of the aspects of studying abroad at William and Mary.  I think I find it most impressive that this college is a leading institution with an average of about half of the undergraduate students traveling and studying abroad at some point during their time here.  It really is exciting to hear Guru talk about the college’s initiative and the support of the professors and staff when it comes to helping students get abroad.

The whole talk made me very nostalgic for my trip abroad to Cambridge, England last summer.  I was able to go across the ocean for a little over six weeks last July and August seeing most of the Island of Great Britain as well as a short trip to Ireland. While the trip to Ireland was intended just to be a relaxing trip to see the sights, I was shocked to run into another William and Mary group studying in Galway. The Galway program was one I didn’t even know about, so you can imagine my surprise when I ran into about a dozen of my friends in Ireland unintentionally. It just proves that you can travel around the world and still be involved in the William and Mary community!
