Mama Mia!:

So I went to see Mama Mia this past Friday on its opening day.  It was amazing and I absolutely loved it!!  I always enjoy getting off campus for a bit to get dinner with friends or do a little shopping, but going out to the movies is probably my favorite off-campus past time.

There is something exciting about going to the theater with friends, maybe buying some popcorn, seeing the lights dim and the movie play out on a huge screen.  One of the great things about William and Mary is that you don’t have to go off-campus all the time to have this experierence.  Each semester we have an event called “Screen On the Green”.  A large screen is set up at the end of our sunken gardens and two movies are played as soon as the sun sets and it gets dark outside.  Students come out with lawn chairs, large blankets, and towels to sit in the gardens and enjoy the movie.  Even over the summer when there are less people on campus, events like this still take place.  Just this pass week in one of our fields, there was a showing of Batman Begins before the new Batman Dark Knight movie came out.  Going to the movies is a favorite pastime of mine and its great that I can get the same experience right at my school!
