About Laura Manzano

e.e. Cummings once said, “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” And in my time at William and Mary and on this awesome planet that has given me Michael Buble, I am trying to do just that. I hail from Sarasota, Florida, which is a smaller city with a lot of elderly people, and not very much to do on the weekends. Needless to say, moving to Williamsburg wasn’t that big of a culture shock. I have a large family: a dog named after a famous cat (Nala from “The Lion King), three actual cats that I love equally, four siblings that I love equally most of the time, and my parents.

I was an English major at the College. I love writing more than Ke$ha loves glitter. Other things: I love lists – making them, reading them, following them. It took me much too long to finish the Harry Potter series.

I have this weird thing where my hot food has to be hot and my cold food has to be cold. Lukewarm food is for lukewarm people. I genuinely feel unsafe without my glasses. I have a really bad (good?) watch tan, and have an unabashed admiration for Beyonce. I love people, but way more than those people who say they love people, but actually just give a lot of hugs. I am truly fascinated by people, and I love to write about what I love. And I guess that’s why I’m here.
