Are we there yet?

AttractionPhew…you made it through! The study abroad application is done, over with, adios, sayonara, good riddance! But honestly, the waiting process after the application is turned in is the worst part of studying abroad. For summer study abroad, you turn the application in around February 1and find out your acceptance status within the next month. However, semester abroad program waits can be grueling.

For the semester programs, there is not a specific date set for you to find out whether you are accepted. The final decision rests with the host university, so you are waiting on them. Keep in mind, if you are applying in the spring for fall semester, you are submitting your application at the same time most universities are receiving applications from high school seniors, transfers, and other applicants. This is a busy time for universities including your host, so you have to be patient (a virtue I do not have). The best way to see through the wait is to stay hopeful and speak your study abroad experience into existence. Remind yourself that you did the best you could and you will be abroad next semester. Hang in there! If I can do it, you can do it.

Sincerely,

Prepared for the rain UK Visitor
