Meet William & Mary’s Blogging Senior Interviewers

It can be tough to completely express yourself through a paper application – paper applications are two-dimensional, after all. Our Admission Office recognizes this and gives students a chance to add another personal layer to their application. On-campus interviews provide you with the opportunity to make your application three-dimensional. Each summer, the Admission Office hires sixteen rising seniors to conduct these one-on-one, optional and evaluative interviews. This is a valuable opportunity not only for the interviewer to get to know the student better, but also for the interviewee to get to hear about a current student’s W&M experience. We are two of this summer’s interviewers, and we thought we’d give you a little insight into who we are.

Hey guys it’s Jon! I am SO excited to be working with the Admission Office as a Senior Interviewer this summer with 15 other amazing students. I am from Ashburn, VA and am double majoring in Marketing and Film & Media Studies. Studying these two majors has really allowed me to tap into both my creativity and analytical problem solving skills. My favorite part about being a Senior Interviewer thus far has been seeing prospective students get excited about sharing their stories and passions with me. On campus you can find me giving tours, helping out with orientation, or curating my next Instagram post. I’m excited to bring my passion for photography to this social media project and post aesthetically pleasing photos with Erin!

Hello everyone! I am a rising senior from the great state of New York, specifically hailing from Long Island. I am majoring in American Studies and embracing the liberal arts opportunities available at William & Mary. One of the coolest parts of the education I have received here at W&M has been the opportunity to explore classes in many different departments and areas while really stepping out of my comfort zone and engaging with topics spanning from Health Related Exercise and Whitewater Canoeing to Hitchcock’s Films and Modern American Literature. Outside of the classroom, I have had the opportunity to work with both the Office of First Year Experience, through our awesome Orientation program, and the Office of Admission, through tour guiding– two activities that have really allowed me to express my love for the W&M community. I have also had the chance to continue playing competitive soccer on one of our women’s club teams. I am super jazzed to be spending my summer interviewing prospective new students, hearing their wonderful stories, and sharing our fun adventures in Williamsburg via social media with Jon!

In case you couldn’t tell, we are very excited to be spending our summer interviewing prospective students just like you! These interviews run Monday to Friday through August 18, and then will start back up during the fall. If you are interested in signing up for one (which we hope you are!), you can visit our website.

Also, if you want to keep up with our antics in the ‘Burg this summer, we have taken over the Admission Office social media accounts! Be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram (@wmadmission) and Twitter! Stay tuned for the next blog post!
