It’s Cool to Moo

William & Mary has always been historically innovative.  We are the second oldest college in the nation and home to the nation’s first law school, the nation’s first collegiate honor code, and the nation’s first fraternity.  In more modern times, William & Mary was one of the first universities to be completely wireless.  Our twenty-first century students have twenty-first century technology even in our 300-year old academic buildings.  The history and tradition that is so much a part of William & Mary has always been about being at the forefront or the cutting edge of what is going on in higher education in this country.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission is no exception.  This year we have replaced our tired, old, outdated prospect cards with a product called Moo Cards (which we have cleverly renamed Tribe Cards).  Thanks to William & Mary’s Dean of Admission, Henry Broaddus, we now use something much more modern and much cooler.  Rather than having students manually complete a card and then having our staff manually data enter that information, we now ask prospective students to pick up a Tribe Card (adorned with pictures from campus on the front and a message on the back) at a college fair or high school visit and simply go on-line to a unique URL and add themselves to our mailing list.  Pretty cool huh?  It’s modern, it’s smart, it’s dynamic, it’s William & Mary.
