Great Weekend for Tribe athletics

One of my best memories at William and Mary was my senior year when our football program went to the semi-finals of the NCAA I-AA football championship. The game that sent us to the semi’s was an exciting double overtime victory and I was one of many that rushed the field to congratulate our team on their victory.  I must say that the football program is at it again.  This Saturday, the Tribe hosted its first playoff game since 2004 (my senior year).  Even though I was not there, I was getting text updates and twitter status updates from many friends keeping me posted on the game.  I am happy to report that the Tribe won in a dominating way with a 38-0 victory over Weber St. With the win, the Tribe will travel to play Southern Illinois on Saturday.  So while I will not be making the trip to see them play, I will be following the game in hopes of another playoff run for the Tribe.

I was also checking the athletics website late Saturday evening and saw that the Tribe basketball team had pulled out a 78-68 victory over Wake Forest.  This is a great start for our men’s basketball program as well, and I hope they keep up the momentum throughout the season.

This was a great weekend for Tribe athletics!  Keep up the good work.  Go Tribe!
