Every Dynasty Must Come to an End

Well clearly the pirate theme came with a lot of good luck and the omens sent to the deans about walking the plank and needing lifesavers were omens to which we should have paid more heed.  After five years of demonstrative victories, the deans met their match on the kickball field (actually a court as rain forced the game inside) last night.  Not only did we lose, we lost badly (12 to 3).  Like the ball that managed to lose all its air due to the interns’ monstrous kicking abilities, the deans’ spirit was deflated.  The “internship” did in fact dock and it docked in a major way.

True to W&M community spirit, afterwards the interns and deans gathered at a local pub to share in good food, good drink, and good company. Discussing everything from the game’s highlights to the intricate world of admission, smiles, laughter, and camaraderie were in high supply.  We were not bosses and subordinates or even merely colleagues, we were friends.  So congratulations to the interns of 2009; their pre-game antics and actual game skills are truly superior and will likely go unmatched for some time.
