WCWM 90.9 – William & Mary Radio

Whether you are into traditional Appalachian music, contemporary French pop music, New York hip-hop, dancehall from Jamaica, contemporary folk music, jazz, classical, or practically any other manifestation or combination of the above, WCWM 90.9 has what you are looking for.  Broadcasting from the on-campus studio and run entirely by William & Mary Students, this radio station is the place to experience diversity in music at the College.

The best part about the station?  You can do more than just listen.  After six hours of service to the station–which I am tackling by cataloging 20 year old vinyl collections and writing reviews of  “A-list” albums for the radio station’s magazine, “Vinyl Tap”–any student can audition for a live radio show.  Have a special place in your soul for Balinese ceremonial chanting, Dubstep, or the affectionately termed “Booty Rap”?   You could have a radio show in a semester.  Interested in bringing exciting musical acts to campus?  WCWM  may be the place for you.

So go on, tune in online and check out this semester’s shows by visiting the station’s website, www.wcwm.org, or flipping your dial to 90.9 the next time you are in Williamsburg.  You may not always like the music, but at least its not the same old song you have been listening to for months.
