Getting Amped Up and Cha-ch-changes!

I am a second semester senior! Three and a half years ago if you had told me that, I would have been so ridiculously happy. Now however, those words are laced with sadness for me. First, let me give you some history. When I was a high school senior, I did not want to go to William and Mary at all. But now that I have been here, I cannot imagine spending the past four years of my life anywhere else. Class of ’09 — we’ve been through a lot together.

One change that I have personally been a part of is the change from the University Center Activities Board (our programming and activities board on campus) to AMP! New name, new image, the whole works. It’s been getting me thinking about a lot of other changes that we have encountered over the past few years. A new President (in the nation and the College), a new Sadler Center, a new Integrated Science Center and parking deck — etc., etc., etc.! Same old squirrels though (I swear they live forever). I think the biggest change has been within myself though. I know, I might be sentimental because I only have just over 100 days at the college, but it is true!

Change is a good thing, and at a College that’s been here over 300 years, it was bound to happen and we are surprisingly open to new ideas. But one thing at W&M will never change — the heart and soul of the College: the quality of students that we have and the relationships that are formed as soon as the parents drive off . Go Tribe!
