January 11, 2015: The Blessed Day Off

Mai (my delightful Japanese roommate) and I had one goal today: Sleep-in At All Costs…or at least until noon. Mai won with a record of 11:30am. Once again politics and urban education were reunited in various activities ranging from a morning hike to museum tours. After seven straight days of going, going, going, this little lull in the schedule was my nirvana. As the last night of the DC Winter Seminar settled into the dusky sky, I burritoed into my bed of bittersweet, for tomorrow was goodbye.
