About Dawn Alleman

Dawn Alleman grew up in Pennsylvania and took after her grandfather, poking around in the dirt and on his farm. She has a degree in Biology from UNC-Wilmington and a Masters in Floriculture & Ornamental Horticulture from Cornell University.

Teaching others to garden & love the outdoors has always been a part of her career, although her jobs have varied: garden center manager, extension agent, greenhouse grower, gardener, lecturer & garden writer, conference planner, etc.

Dawn lives in Williamsburg and worked at William & Mary in the Facilities Management Grounds & Gardens department.
