Hello friends! I’m Shahenda and I’m a rising senior at the College. I’m majoring in English with a Middle Eastern Studies minor. As a Kuwaiti national, an Egyptian citizen, and a resident of Arlington, Virginia, I am so happy to have spent the last three years making William & Mary another place to call home. I am looking forward to going straight to graduate school after graduation because I’m just not quite ready to stop being a student.
At the College, I keep myself busy by being involved in as many extracurriculars as possible. I’m the chair of the Conduct & Honor Advisor Program (CHAP), an organization I’ve been a part of since my freshman year; I’m also a member of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) the service fraternity, an Orientation Aide, a tour guide, a tutor for College Partnership for Kids, and a teaching assistant for the Arabic Dept. This summer, I am interning at the College as a Senior Interviewer, so I’m getting a wonderful dose of Williamsburg humidity that could probably last a lifetime. I’m really excited to relish every moment of my senior year and to make the best of the time I have left at the College.
