Well, its official. I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean, and will be remaining in Europe until early June! I have been in Europe for only a few days, and I am already in love with life here! I am currently in England, traveling to Oxford, Bath and London with my mom before I head to Seville to start my semester!
While in Oxford, I got to visit the university’s campus!
During my first day in England I travelled to Oxford. I saw the Great Hall of Oxford (where the Harry Potter dining hall was based on) and ate dinner at the local pub that C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein frequented. I also climbed 122 stairs to see the panoramic view of Oxford. While I was climbing the stairs, I met a man who was in Oxford visiting his daughter while she was studying abroad. Crazy enough, his daughter is a student at W&M! It is such a small world. Who knew I would randomly meet a W&M parent while climbing up a tower in Oxford?

Since I’ve been in England, I have been constantly reminded of W&M. While on a tour in Bath, my tour guide discussed King William and Queen Mary and how they chartered a college called the College of William & Mary! W&M’s influence and reputation truly reaches across the globe.
I had the opportunity to tour the famous Roman Baths while in Bath, England!
Traveling around England, I feel as if I am getting more and more connected to W&M. There is so much rich history here in England, but also W&M has so much deeply rooted history. From a royal charter by King William and Queen Mary to the first honor code to the first law school, W&M has made a lot of history. One of the many reasons I was drawn to W&M was its history and traditions.
I got to visit one of the oldest and most historic villages in all of England! War Horse and Doctor Doolittle were filmed here.
I can’t wait to keep on exploring this continent, and sharing with you my discoveries (and photos). Keep on adventuring, Tribe!
