Honor Code Extension

Honor Code

Williamsburg is the only place where you can lose your wallet and find it with nothing missing. William and Mary’s honor code is held in high esteem and you can pretty much leave anything lying around and it remain in the exact same spot that you left it. In Swem LibraHonor Codery, I always leave my laptop unattended especially if I’m going to class and will return to Swem later. My computer is never stolen let alone touched because students, professors, and visiting residents respect other people’s belongings. For example, my friend realized that she forgot her wallet three days ago at the Green Leaf Café while having dinner. Someone could have stolen her identity and her money deeming this a messy case.  However, a kindhearted person returned it to the cashier at the Cafe. As she retraced her steps to find her wallet, she called the Green Leaf described it and to her surprise they had it!
Honor CodeWhether it was a student, a Williamsburg resident, or a visiting individual, the honor code seems to extend into the surrounding parts of Williamsburg not just the campus.  If safety is a big deal on what college you choose, William and Mary is a great choice because not only is the campus safe, but the surrounding areas we call home.
