Hello, It IS You We’re Looking For

Did I just title a blog post after a Lionel Richie song? Yup.

Did this serve any discernible purpose? Surprisingly, also yup.

The Admit It! blog is back in action, as those of us here in the Admission Office have turned our full attention to building William & Mary’s diverse, talented, and bright future classes.

When you last heard from us, we were posting the final waitlist updates for last year’s freshman and transfer applicants. Those students are now either here in Williamsburg enjoying their first year as members of the Tribe, or off at other terrific colleges doing similarly terrific things.

While these previous applicants had their turn in the spotlight, and while we enjoyed learning about each of these students, it is now YOUR turn to share your story with us. We can’t wait to embark on this journey with you, as you move through the various stages of your college search.

As we speak, members of our team are travelling across the country and around the globe in order to meet with you and answer any questions that you may have. If we are visiting your high school, or participating in an event near you, we will communicate with you via email to let you know that we will be in your area (assuming you have signed up to receive information from W&M). We do our absolute best to cover as much area as possible so that we can share our passion for W&M with you in person.

Soon, we will be turning our attention to our Early Decision applicants. Early Decision is the binding variety of an early application, which grants you the opportunity to both express your William & Mary fandom, and to receive an early admission decision from our office. The Early Decision deadline, November 1, is quickly approaching – these admission decisions are issued by early December.

If you’re waiting for the non-binding, Regular Decision deadline, this is perfectly fine, too. That admission deadline is January 1, and we release admission decisions by early April.

Regardless of when you are considering to apply, we hope that you continue to keep us in mind during your college search. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

Should you ever have any questions, you are always welcome to call us (757-221-4223), email us (admission@wm.edu), contact your regional dean, or post a comment to this blog. We are happy to help if we can. Moving forward, be on the lookout for new blog posts every few weeks as we continue to address some of the pressing topics that may be on your mind.

Go Tribe.
